Financial Metro North Building opened for business on October 2, 1984 with the formal dedication conducted by her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Due to increasing demand f

or meeting space in the Toronto area, Financial Metro expanded over and under the railway tracks. The South Building became a reality thirteen years later and was officially opened by his Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh on June 29, 1997. Except for the Ceremonial Entrance, the South Building is located completely underground.

Financial Metro has received many awards and certifications over the years including:

* Meetings and Incentive Travel Reader’s Choice Award as one of the top meeting venues for Service Excellence in Canada
* BOMA (Building Owners & Managers Association) Award of Excellence and Building of the Year Award
* Designated Service Excellence Provider (Ontario Tourism Education Corporation)
